REFLEXOLOGY IN RESIDENTIAL CARE

I offer a professional Reflexology Service in residential settings.

Touch therapy is hugely beneficial for relaxation, calming and a sense of companionship, the importance of which is well recognised, but particularly significant for people living in residential care, often, the only time they are touched is during clinical procedures or personal care.

When dealing with challenges, be it social, physical, mobility, or mental impairments.

accessing good quality beneficial well being treatments can be difficult.

Reflexology is a wonderful, non invasive treatment, ideal for vulnerable or older people, as it can be administered easily to  hands, ears or face, but more usually on the feet, People can easily be treated in a reclining chair, sofa, or bed. Vertical Reflexology, where the upper side of the foot is worked, is idea for clients in wheel chairs, or those who may not be comfortable or able to lie or recline.

Research is showing that Reflexology lowers anxiety and stress experienced in some people living in residential care, especially those suffering with dementia, Alzheimer's or confused mental impairments. More recent studies have indicated aiding in recovery from substance abuse, helping improve mental health and pain, especially for physical disabilities.

I have experience of working with Brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, mental health and challenging behaviour, within care plans and as part of a multi disciplinary team.

CRB checked, fully insured, previously mappa trained.
